Smart Phones are one of the essential tools of social media. They’re powerful. They’re sexy. They can interact in ways we never dreamed of ten years ago. And they all bore me to tears
I hate that each and every new smart phone to be pumped out of any company is constantly talked about and reviewed. This cycle drives me nuts is because most of us don’t have the money to constantly break our contracts with providers and change our phone to get the latest model. I realize people’s contracts end all the time, and not just when my contract ends, but still it seems overkill to need to talk about each new phone with such anticipation before hand and such reverence once the reviewer lays his hands on it.
One thing that always surprises me is how impressed reviewers are at how each phone is improving. It’s amazing, because you’d think critics would understand that yearly upgrades between models would do that, or that programmers will keep figuring out how to make better smartphone software. This seems not to be the case however.
Furthermore, they seem to ignore that there is a very belligerent and forceful section of the population that wants phones that simply text and make calls. We all don’t need to run apps and constantly check Twitter. Not everyone needs to pay an extra $30 a month in a data plan. Dumb phones will not ruin the future.
iPhones, Androids, and the like are great, but until someone includes a feature beyond a better camera or a faster processor, I’ll be hiding behind my iPhone.

This headline is more generic than the prescription drugs the doctors in the hospital prescribe. Also, that first sentence is written in the passive voice.
