How I Organize My Google+ Circles

Since Google+ launched, people have been asking me how I organize my Google+ circles.

Unfortunately, I have no grand ideas about how to organize the people in my online life. I use a number of descriptors to create some buckets, and from there I organize everyone as neatly as possible.

This is what it sort of looks like right now:

Google Plus Circles - The Anti-Social Media

I really think I need to add circles for “Crazy Friends,” “Crazy Assholes,” and “Crazy Parents.” Of course, I’d probably get rid of “My parents” at that point.

How do you organize your circles? Does anyone else organize them by order of nuttiness? I’m gonna get to work adding some more people to circles so they don’t know how crazy I think they really are.

All the organizing is actually too much for me at the moment. Those that I know are in general easy to circle, but the rest?

I know. I tend not to cycle a lot of people. At the same time, I’m amazed at the people who keep adding me.

Love this. I considered frenimies and bitched among others. But I was paranoid that somehow people would be able to find out what circle they were in, maybe that would not be such a bad thing.

Google+ only tells you if someone’s update was public or limited to a circle. They don’t say which yet.

Though I’d like to let the assholes know what I think of them…

I actually have a circle called “People I dont know yet”. I put in there people that have added me to their circles, but I don’t know who they are.

I like your approach though, and will probably create circles for:

    - People that hate me because they’d like to be me
    - Mortal enemies
    - Crazy Assholes
    etc.

It’s a good way to keep tabs on your enemies without them knowing.

I don’t know who Lauren is, but I’m always glad to bring a laugh and a smile.

I think more shapes would be fun. Put your square friends in a square, your pointy-headed ones in a triangle, etc, etc.

I want to put my friends in an octagon. Or a pentagon. Or a pentagram.

That looks like fun, really. Let’s just cross our fingers that Google+ won’t change the way people can’t see in which circle they were added or that would be some serious…. But, with their ‘real names’ policy that caused quite a stir, who knows..? Now, you gave me some ideas .
