Join Me in LA at BlogWorld Expo

What Speakers Really Do - The Anti-Social MediaI have a confession to make.

I’ve never been further west than Asheville, North Carolina.

I know. I suck. I’m missing an entire world that is the rest of America. I’ve never had the motivation opportunity to travel into the west.

Until now.

Apparently, the people at BlogWorld Expo (affiliate link, yo) want to unleash me upon the world. I’ll be giving a speech about my new favorite topic, authenticity, called “Fake Is the New Authentic.”  I’ll make sure to include my usual awesome cartoons, bacon, and cats, and perhaps a few even crazier things as well. I promise not to mess up the west coast too much.

While the west coast prepares itself for my cataclysmic arrival, I’m giving away a free one day pass to BlogWorld Expo. If you want to spend one day basking in my glory (or with any of the other chumps that are presenting), all you have to do is a leave a comment on this post.  I don’t care what you comment about. You can talk about cats or haul videos or mutant vampire maggots. I will pick one random comment and that person will get the free pass.

Join me at Blog World Expo, and together we can rule the blogosphere for a day.

Update: I never set a deadline for comments. Sometimes I fail like that. Cut off for comments is Midnight, Eastern Standard Time, October 11, 2011.

That would be fun. I probably won’t be picked… but people can still dream!
    lol
hope you have a great time!

    • Jay October 4, 2011 at 12:07 pm #

But what if you are picked?

I hope so too. I’m basing my entire thoughts of California on this one trip.

Supposedly David Letterman said “Fall is my favorite season in Los Angeles, watching the birds change color and fall from the trees.”
BlogWorld Expo in LA sounds amazing.

    • Jay October 4, 2011 at 12:07 pm #

That sounds awesome. I want to be in LA now.

Heck yes. I was in the same spot as you just a year ago. Never traveling out west until I got wind of this magical land of Oz called Blogworld in Vegas. Worth every darn penny sir! Changed my life in so many ways, glad to see you’ll be attending! 🙂

I’m sick of my life changing. Can’t I just be a successful superstar by sitting at home on my fat ass?

      • Camilo Olea October 4, 2011 at 3:43 pm #

Let me know if that is possible. I want to do it too. Kthxbye.

    • Tiffany Starnes October 4, 2011 at 3:45 pm #

If I don’t win, Amber “Miss Destructo” Osborne is also a fairly stellar wing woman.

      • Jay October 4, 2011 at 7:05 pm #

I need more wing people. And people to be the wind beneath my wings.

So glad that you’ll be speaking! 🙂 Like Amber, I was also in the same spot about a year ago. I feel like things really began for me when I went to my first BlogWorld. Lots of wonderful things. You have THINGS to look forward to! Things!

    • Jay October 4, 2011 at 7:05 pm #

      Yes! Things! So exciting!

  5. Tiffany Starnes October 4, 2011 at 3:43 pm #

I like bacon and I like cats. I do not like social media experts, innovators or thought leaders and am pretty good at spotting them, which, makes a pretty good wing woman.

    • Jay October 4, 2011 at 7:06 pm #

Fact - I’ve never eaten bacon. I’ve had turkey bacon though.

I believe the real question here is: Will Ms. Chibi Dolan speak at BlogWorldExpo too?

I’d like the slides of her presentation if possible, thanks.

    • Jay October 4, 2011 at 5:30 pm #

I’m a crazy cat blogger, but not that crazy enough to take my cat out of her home so she kills me in anger and fear.

  7. patmrhoads October 4, 2011 at 3:51 pm #

Sweet offer, Jay. I’m sure whoever goes will have a blast. BTW, thanks for even having this ‘contest’ which motivated me to come comment on your blog instead of just reading your posts in my Google reader. I really do enjoy your rants and insights, and I know I ought to comment more often. So hey, thanks.

    • Jay October 4, 2011 at 7:08 pm #

My only goal in life is to have a ridiculous number of comments on this site. And to make boatloads of money.

  8. Gini Dietrich October 4, 2011 at 9:44 pm #

It’s a good thing it’s not in Vegas. I’d be really scared for you. Keep in mind: You can go on the tour of celebrity homes if you want…at least they tell you they’re the celebrity homes.

    • Jay October 5, 2011 at 1:30 am #

I think I’d die in Vegas.

Who am I kidding? I’ll die in LA.

  9. Barry October 5, 2011 at 2:49 am #

If your presentation includes a drawing of bacon - I am so there.
And if I win the ticket, I will bring you bacon salt.
    Salt that tastes like bacon.
    It’s in a jar.
    For real.
    You deserve it.

    • Jay October 5, 2011 at 9:50 am #

It sounds terrifying. What do you put it on? Bacon? French fries?

  10. Laura October 7, 2011 at 1:11 am #

I have two Havana Browns who won’t mind if I leave them to go to LA for a day. In fact, they many not notice I’ve gone.

Also, I cannot hear “bacon” any more without adding “the maple kind?” Damn viral videos.

I haven’t gotten much done this week. If I win a free pass, I can say I’ve been networking. Actually, does this comment count as networking? In which case, I’m working late. Sheesh.

    • Jay October 7, 2011 at 10:29 am #

Don’t work your self too hard. Your cats will get upset.

  11. Tiffany Starnes October 26, 2011 at 11:18 am #

    Who won the ticket?

    • Jay October 26, 2011 at 11:58 am #

      Phil H!
